Registering each person in a family as a completely separate record, with no link between them, forces you to repeat the same address, the same emergency contact number, and the same information multiple times. Without a link between family records, updating an address means doing it person by person, increasing the risk of inconsistency: one family member with the new address, another still with the old one.
